FIELD SERVICE TECH with automation experience needed now for a well-established California Central Valley company!

If you have the ability to install, repair and support automated equipment, strong customer service and communication skills, and like to travel, we have a great opportunity for you.

You will work primarily at customer sites.  Some support may also be performed via phone and/or e-mail.  Duties include troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing automated packaging equipment and related systems, performing installations and maintenance activities, completing service-related documentation, and suggesting additional or upgraded equipment options.  Collaborate with company technical staff, other equipment vendors and customer representatives on equipment installation, maintenance and integration issues. 

Work schedule will vary depending upon service requirements, and will include overtime and weekend work.  Extensive travel to customer locations is required.

This is a regular, full time position with benefits.  

Must have strong PLC and HMI programming skills and Fanuc robotics experience.  Also required are excellent electrical and mechanical, assembly, testing, troubleshooting and repair skills, field service/ customer support experience, and the ability to utilize a wide variety of hand and power tools. 

Knowledge should include 200 and 600 volt electrical systems, automated packaging machinery, metal and plastic fabrication, machine shop, and test equipment. 

Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills are essential to communicate effectively with customers, internal staff and others.  Bilingual skills (English/ Spanish) highly desirable.  Must be able to read and understand assembly drawings, manuals and layout drawings. Strong computer literacy is required, including the ability to document processes, service activities, equipment records, and customer communication using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, and contact management software.
