Job Description

We are looking for a Failure Analysis Technician. Volt's Client is an American multinational technology company that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services.

Position Summary:

The QA Tech will support CQM by conducting day to day operations needed for successful capture of field

issues and reliability testing. This includes but is not limited to receipt, test, analysis, reporting, and shipment

of RMA’s or other units of interest. The QA Tech. will assist in the development of statistical analysis and

trend data in order to maintain the Quality Information System (QIS. The successful QA tech will be highly

motivated, able to multi-task, and have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the

company. It shall be the job of the QA Tech to interpret work/test instructions, engineering drawings, or schematic diagrams and confer with engineering staff to define and update the applicable quality and reliability standards or documents, as needed. This position is also responsible for maintaining and executing testing for RT, ORT, and FA process. The QA tech shall be responsible for up keeping of reliability document procedures as well as calibration system. The QA tech shall perform scheduled calibration per internal procedures and will oversee daily testing within the QA lab.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Coordinate the receipt of field failed units from 3rd party RMA center or other source

• Conducted teardowns and basic Failure Analysis (FA) on consumer electronics (headphones, earphones, speakers, etc...)

• Create reports of Analysis/Conformance, as required

• Conduct data entry into PLM system

• Coordinate RTV process, including packaging and shipping to ODM’s in APAC region

• Maintain and manage QA laboratory per CQM direction

• Support Engineering with routine equipment inspections and process validations, as necessary

• Maintain instrument calibration, documentation, and procedures

• Maintain accurate and organized records of QA activities

• Maintain organized inventory of retained products and scrap product no longer needed

• Participate in preparation for 3rd party audits

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Additional desired skills and qualifications:

• Have solid computer & typing skills and be able to use Microsoft Windows, Internet

• Explorer, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc...

• Be a highly motivated self-starter capable of working independently as well as in group settings.

• Be well organized and able to multi-task.

• Have good verbal and written communications skills.

• Have experience using electronic test equipment.

• Be experienced and able to use hand tools and small power tools.

• Have experience with RT lab equipment and be able to set up test protocols.

• Be able to read and understand technical drawings, datasheets, and written work instructions.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quality Technician, or equivalent.
