This is a 6 month onsite contract to hire position with 50/50 conversion potential.
The ideal candidate will encompass skillsets we are seeking such as demonstrated analytical and communication skills, an outstanding Microsoft skills (Powerpoint, Word) and Excel Pivot tables and Vlookups. Please read the job description below for further details: 

Job Description : 
• Process and Post weekly time-sheets for labor and payroll.
• Reconcile weekly and monthly labor and payroll postings.
• Process Timesheet Corrections.
• Assist employees with timesheet issues or corrections.
• Perform Audits of timesheets.
• Assist in responses to Audit requests, both internal and external.
• Assist in other Finance reconciliations or projects as needed.//

**Basic Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Kronos or other electronic timekeeping system a plus.
• Knowledge of FLSA and CA payroll rules.

• Previous payroll systems experience (minimum 4 years), Kronos knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of CA/TX labor requirements.
• Knowledge of FAR requirements a plus.
• Ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas.
• Excellent problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be self-motivated and very detail-oriented.
• Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee data.
• Dedicated to teamwork.
• PC proficiency including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook,and Costpoint.

**Education: 2 year AA degree in Accounting or Business, BA preferred but NOT required.
As the Payroll Specialist, they will work closely with all functions within the assigned business, shared services group, and payroll offices group.

• Responsible for processing weekly timesheets and labor validation for CA and TX locations.
• Provide labor reports to management.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
• Conduct regular timesheet and floorcheck audits.
• Prepare labor corrections as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with applicable state labor laws and compliance with Dept. of Defense regulations.
• Perform database testing for system upgrades.
• Maintain timekeeping and policy/procedure manuals.
• Provide new hire training and on-going employee training.
• Support DCAA/DCMA and other audits as needed.
• Other duties as assigned
