Firmware Engineer – Andover, MA

Volt is seeking a Firmware Engineer for a 9+ month contract opportunity with a global leader in sustainable energy management and industrial automation located in Andover, MA.  This is a first shift position.

This position is for a Senior level contractor with a bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years’ experience and excellent C/C++ embedded coding skills.

This position will work to develop and deploy Ethernet applications for Products and Projects within Schneider Electric. They will design and refactor for real time embedded Ethernet applications used in industrial control environments. The work includes client/server architectures on TCP/IP networks, deterministic Ethernet performance and use of upper layer protocols and require the following skills:

• Experience with embedded product development lifecycle and experience with released product and support

• Experience with embedded real time programming in C/C++ for RTOS environments including VxWorks/Linux/RTXC

• Knowledge of Ethernet and associated protocols (such as TCP/IP, EIP, BOOTP, SNMP, SNTP etc.)

• Understanding of client/server architectures

• Experience with two of; iAR Compiler/debugger, ARM architectures, multicore architectures, Rational ClearCase

• Experience with static code analysis (Klockworks, Coverity) with ability to develop secure code

• Cyber security knowledge for Ethernet networking
