Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions currently has several Forklift Operator openings for both 1st and 2nd shift. 1st shift will be from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and 2nd shift will be from 2:00pm to 10:30pm. 

1st Shift is $11.00 per hour

2nd Shift is $11.50 per hour

SUMMARY

Contributes to the activities of the Memphis shipping and receiving warehouse organization by performing the following duties and specific assignment to a core area, e.g., Shipping, Receiving, Picking/Packing, Refurbishment, or Order Fulfillment, especially through the use of warehouse forklift equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Forklift Operation:  Completes daily forklift maintenance check sheet.  Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials, and transports load to designated area.  Puts away or picks palletized units into/from four or five high racks.  Inventories materials; supplies production lines. 

Order fulfillment:  Ensures all customer orders are pulled, packed, and shipped on a daily basis and ship confirmed in Oracle.

Shipping & In bounding:   Receive incoming inventory from vendors and inspect for accuracy.  Unpacks and examines incoming shipment, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.  Ships out repaired units to customers.

Used Parts:  Maintains inventory of used and spare parts that will be sent back to the parts vendor or manufacturer in accordance to shipping schedule; enters information into Oracle and ensures credit is made.

  • Put incoming inventory in designated stock keeping locations
  • Perform daily cycle counts on inventory to ensure inventory accuracy;  participates in scheduled physical inventory.
  • Compares identifying information and counts, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons; assembles cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers;  packs out customer orders/units
  • Stacks outgoing shipments on pallet in necessary (shrink wraps boxes onto pallet)
  • Posts weights and shipping charges; examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 1-2 years related experience;  Must have experience with sit down forklift AND order picker OR reach truck.

  • High School Graduate or GED

  • Knowledge of FedEx Powership and computers required
  • Valid Driver's License

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, emails, customer data, part numbers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Must be able to use a keyboard, computer, telephone, pallet jack, and forklift equipment.
