General Laborer in Youngsville, NC at Volt

Now hiring "General Laborer" for a great company in the Youngsville, NC area!!!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Handles and moves glass from tables, furnace, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wooden crates for 8-10 hours daily.
• Transports glass or other materials from one position/location to another in an effort to expedite the production process.
• Straps glass to carts and or trucks so they are safe for moving.
• Follows work instructions by reading labels to expedite the production process; understands and communicates paperwork and labels/picking list.
• Inspects product for any abnormalities, cracks, chips, etc. and notifies supervisor immediately of any issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills and Requirements:

• Experience in a production or manufacturing environment; Glass industry is preferred (not required).
• Must be able to lift 50 to 75 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to lift up to 150 lbs. with assistance.
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Must be able to wear company-issued cut resistant safety shirt, hard hat, steel-toed boots, safety glasses and gloves.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with minimal direct supervision.
• Must be able to work overtime with flexible starting times in some departments.
• Must be willing to work in other departments as required.
• Regular and predictable attendance, safe performance of tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the job.

Education/Experience:

• HS Diploma/GED Preferred.
• Previous experience in manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Experience using hoists and cranes a plus.
