General Manager for Totem Lake, WA

This manufacturing company located in Totem Lake, WA which is a privately held company founded in 1984 and provides end to end electronic manufacturing services including Design, Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA), complete Box Builds, final System Integration and Test is seeking a General Manager for a full-time, direct opportunity

Additional Information:

  • Must have Contract Electronics Manufacturing Experience
  • Must have worked in a high volume manufacturing facility with between 100-200 employees.
  • Master's Degree Preferred.


The General Manager is responsible for directing all aspects of operations through a team of functional managers and supervisors.  Develops and delivers strategies for continual improvement in the area of operational excellence that align with business strategy for safety, quality, on time delivery, cost and customer focused service. This position ensures increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficient use of the workforce, materials and machines.  Participates with the customer and other senior managers to establish site plans and objectives. Included, but are not limited to the following responsibilities:


  • Planning, organizing, directing and running optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customer's expectations
  • Direct, supervise, mentor and develop staff to deliver operational results that meet and exceed planned expectations. 
  • Conceive, plan and implement continuous improvement activities.  
  • Demonstrate strong leadership through training and coaching to drive excellence and a best workplace
  • Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate fast improvements and improved internal and external working relationships
  • Manages policy deployment in the areas of lean manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measures
  •  Oversee facilities management, driving a safety conscious culture that ensures compliance with all required OSHA, ISO and other required standards and an efficient, safe place to work for employees
  • Manage and drive continual improvements to ensure on time, on budget, on quality performance
  • Ensure operational departments are in full compliance with documented quality system policies and procedures
  • Balances work cell capacity/loading across the plant
  • Increasing production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Drive process corrective actions and solutions
  • Lead implementation of and manage systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent (Masters Preferred)
  • 10+  years progressive work experience including supervision of large staff with multiple disciplines required
  • Manufacturing environment experience required


  • Strong ability to manage and mobilize cross functional teams through operational changes in process, environment and resources
  • Excellent working knowledge in MS Office Suite (Advanced Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Significant experience in Lean Manufacturing waste reduction techniques (5-S, Kaizen, Continuous Flow, Lead Time Reduction, Value Stream Mapping, and Kanban)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and daily management of MRP II systems for example:  Oracle manufacturing or another MRP II system), Fourth shift
  • High level of analytical ability to solve complex problems
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
  • Ability to present organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
  • Proven track record of efficiency improvements, quality improvements and project management
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and strong interpersonal skills to build and lead highly effective teams
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills  (including the ability to write reports, business correspondence, policies and procedure manuals – if applicable)
  • Strong teaming skills
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
