Volt Workforce Solutions is currently recruiting for one of our premier business partners within the Geotechnical field.

We are actively searching for the next Senior Geotechnical professional to help support the growth of our client's existing geotechnical engineering practice in the Greater Southern California area.

You would be working on innovative projects, handling challenging circumstances, aligned with financial and technical evaluations, designing, permitting, and construction stages of all types of projects from Commercial & Industrial to Community Developments, Public Utilities & Transportation, as well as, Wastewater and Educational Institutions.

Your responsibilities would be to manage projects which involve ground improvement techniques, geo-environmental issues, geotechnical investigations and foundation design.

If selected for this specific position, you would be expected to work on multiple projects concurrently in support of a diverse portfolio of clients, both public and private.

Your job would require you to work with experienced professionals.  Some of your tasks would include, but not limited to, project management.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing and managing geotechnical, geo-environmental, and/or geological engineering field investigations and numerical analyses including drilling, instrumentation, and construction quality assurance
• Preparing and coordinating the integration of design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, construction cost estimates, reports, and permit applications
• Managing projects successfully to achieve goals for technical excellence, budget control, schedule compliance, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability
• Reviewing and managing written document production
• Business development
  • Bringing in new clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients
  • Leading proposal preparation
  • Developing and implementing a business plan
  • Staff management, coaching & mentorship 

Qualifications: 

• BS in civil engineering
  • Emphasis in geotechnical engineering
• Advanced degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (preferred)
• Relevant prior experience, preferably in a consulting setting
• Current California P.E. registration
• Current California G.E. registration
