Job Description

Volt is looking to hire GIS Analyst/Developer for our client based in Melbourne, Florida. The successful candidate will assist in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of systems, software, custom GIS applications, and data integration solutions with a focus on web based geospatial applications. A strong understanding of the ESRI ArcGIS suite of products is required.

 Skills/Requirements:

  • 3+ years professional experience, or equivalent educational experience, in GIS application design, development, and implementation
  • Deep understanding of ESRI products and technology
  • Must have experience developing GIS web services
  • Ability to develop custom web-based GIS applications and widgets
  • Experience with web and ArcGIS development languages including Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python. C# .NET/.ASP is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Portal, and associated capabilities. Experience managing these applications is a strong plus.
  • Experience with front-end development including Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS, Microsoft .Net, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Understanding of application architecture best-practices • Build applications that interface with GIS web services, enterprise databases and ArcSDE
  • Must have experience developing GIS web services
  • Experience with open source mapping application technologies such as, but not limited to, OpenLayers, Leaflet, Mapbox and GeoServer, a plus.
  • Familiarity with big data processing technologies and their integration with ArcGIS or Open Source GIS tools is a plus.
  • Ability to develop custom web-based GIS applications and widgets using Web AppBuilder, ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS on-line
  • Familiarity with source control practices and software such as GitHub and SourceTree • Must have the analytical and interpersonal skills to elicit and document business, functional, and technical requirements
  • Designing, modeling and documenting geodatabases
  • Ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of technical issues
  • Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to understand and interpret business applications and is responsible for developing applications and products to fulfill those requirements
