Governance & Compliance Analyst I (for Insurance Company)

Intermediate level of Excel

(V-lookups experience required)

Downtown, Portland

2+ Month assignment

$23 - $25 per hour DOE

Our Client is a $2.8B Portland-based provider of financial products.  The company's offerings include: group and individual disability insurance, group dental and vision insurance, retirement plans products and services, and investment advice.  Established over 100 years ago, our Client offers the stability of an established firm with a collegial, high-touch service culture.

We are looking for a Governance & Compliance Analyst for an estimated 2+-month assignment in Downtown Southwest Portland, Oregon.   This is a full-time - Monday - Friday - 40 hours a week schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports internal/external user access information technology compliance reviews and risk assessments by performing email inquiries, recording replies and submitting request tickets to modify access.
  • Executes existing control framework to monitor information systems for potential system noncompliance to control objectives, activities, security policies and standards, integrity exposure and control weaknesses.
  • Obtains data for evaluation of complex information systems and controls including but not limited to applications, vendors, business control processes, change control management procedures, security, networks, and computer and data center operations.
  • Work with various IT groups to ensure that information systems adhere to corporate policies and standards.
  • Support audit inquiries by searching ticketing systems and other data sources.
  • Assist in providing feedback to Control Owners regarding audit inquiries.
  • Participate in meetings and perform assigned actions items that will include creating documentation to support processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE: General understanding of process lifecycle management and data retention.  Awareness of information security and data protection methodology.   Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems.  Intermediate to Advanced level expertise in Excel.  Knowledge of how to perform basic V-lookups.

JOB COMPLEXITY:  Awareness of information security.  Perform end to end procedures to support IT General Controls for user management.    Create documentation to support the maturity of process and procedures.  Builds stable working relationships internally.

EXPERIENCE:  Microsoft Office Programs, one year or more of compliance related background work a plus, technical writing, engagement with management in a professional setting.

Education:

High school diploma, plus 1 to 2 years secondary education, and/or equivalent experience.  Bachelors degree is preferred.
