Job Description

We are looking to hire a Grit Blaster - Process Technician for our Client in the Aerospace sector in Oakville, ON for approximately a 1 year contract with the possibility of extension through Volt Workforce Solutions Canada. The SHIFT for this position will be for the Weekend DAY Shift from Friday to Sunday from 6am to 6pm EST.

  • Term: 2018-07-23 to 2019-07-26 (This position is a 1 year contract with possibility of renewal) 
  • Pay Rate Range: $23.64 – $26.28/hr (T4) +  the added shift premium when applying for the scheduled shift + benefits available
  • Hours: 37.5 hours/week paid time
  • Location: Oakville, ON, CAN, L6L5Y7
  • SHIFT AVAILABLE: 1 Weekend Day Shift (6am to 6pm Fri-Sun at 36 hours a week) + (plus 6.25% Shift premium)

Responsibilities:

  • Grit blasting of aircraft components in preparation for plating/painting
  • Part fixturing, loading and unloading
  • Act as a cross functional team member and support/perform masking for plating and other processing applications as requested
  • Participate in lean initiatives (i.e. 5S, TPM, process improvement teams)
  • Communicate and co-ordinate priorities and process issues between operators and shifts
  • Observe and adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma along with 2 years previous experience
  • Prior grit blast machining experience would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to lift 40 lbs
  • Strong understanding of WHMIS
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a cross-functional employee
  • Previous formal crane training is required
  • Successful candidate must meet requirements under ITAR and CCGP
