Job Description

Exciting new postition for a Health Safety & Environmental Manager located in the heart of Solano County! 

  1. Major Role & Responsibilities (MR’s) and Output and Measurement
  1. Develop and maintain the site IIPP Plan
  2. In conjunction with managers, create and sustain a culture where safety comes first and employees are accountable for their own and their colleagues’ safety.
  3. Manage and facilitate the implementation and maintenance of practical and effective health and safety practices, programs and systems that manage the hazards and control the risks within the plan. 
  4. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety.
  5. Assists in planning, and prioritizing safety activities through identification of potential risks and evaluation of existing exposures.
  6. Ensures that safety training for new employees is accomplished during their orientation process and that local safety meetings occur at least monthly or additionally as needed.
  7. Works with the managers or designated representative to assure that all training documents are properly maintained and logged.
  8. Ensure key performance indicators are in place to measure performance improvement in HSE Management. Ensure KPI data is collated, analyzed, reported and interpreted for the plant.
  9. Designs training for all levels of employees
  10. Develops and implements accident investigation, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures.
  11. Directs industrial hygiene, occupational, and general safety programs to ensure a safe environment and comply with safety standards.


  • 3-6 years experience in a plant environment. Experience in industrial facilities required; food industry experience, previous experience in staff role strongly desired.
  • Able to negotiate successful solutions between employees and managers.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, yet exercise independent judgment, set goals, and work well independently.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, training and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
  • Must be team oriented, possess a strong work ethic, and maintain composure during times of stress or change, or while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group and large group situations
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and/or equivalent work experience

  • Specific HSE training/certificates a plus
