Job Description

VOLT’s client is looking for a highly motivated IT Help Desk Technician to provide day-to-day technical support to users. The help desk team is responsible for providing hardware and software service and support to users via phone, e-mail, voice mail, IM. Personal interactions include employees at all levels to resolve problems and implement new solutions.

This is an estimated 3-6+ month Contingent/Temporary position in Spokane, WA and offered through Volt Technical Resources located in Spokane, WA. IT Help Desk Technician Job Duties:

  • Fulfills first-responder customer help desk functionality by receiving, interpreting and responding to trouble incidents though multiple mediums; records and logs all pertinent data concerning trouble calls through a ticketing system.
  • Properly escalates unresolved issues to the next level of support.
  • Tracks, routes and redirects problems to correct resources.
  • Walk customers through problem solving process.
  • Follows up with customers, provides feedback and sees problems through to resolution.
  • Utilizes excellent customer service skills and exceeds customers’ expectations.
  • Ensures proper recording, documentation and incident closure.
  • Recommends procedure modifications or improvements.
  • Preserves and grows knowledge of help desk procedures, products and services.
  • Assist in maintaining a collected repository of pertinent electronic information.
  • Configures, customizes, images and deploys new/re-furbished systems hardware/software.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Information Systems.

Brief Description of Work:

  • Provide Level 1 Technical Support for Onsite Technicians
  • Check In/Out of Technicians from Work Orders
  • Follow Up and Approval of Technician Deliverables


  • Technical Support/Help Desk experience (phone based preferred)
  • Customer Service
  • Retail or Restaurant Experience
  • Basic Understanding of Technology
  • Basic Knowledge of Performing Onsite Work & Tools
  • Experience with POS systems is a plus
  • Ability to read/digest support processes, scripts, procedures
