Data and Reporting Analyst

This is an estimated 5 month, contingent to hire position, in Tacoma, WA and is offered through Volt Workforce Solutions. We are among the largest staffing companies in the US for contingent/temporary and direct hire placements, and support many of the top rated Pacific Northwest companies.

The Human Resources Data and Reporting Analyst is a collaborative role that will work cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and IT.  They will be responsible for analysis that fuses HR and business data that can maximize talent decisions to drive higher levels of organizational performance that ultimately drives shareholder value.  With this analysis the organization will better understand and predict retention, boost employee engagement, improve quality of hires, and profile high performers.  The Human Resources Data Analyst is responsible for revealing the story behind the data and preparing it for presentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Function as a primary analytics and reporting specialist for the HR function by developing standard and ad hoc reports; designing, running and maintaining ad hoc queries; maintaining data integrity through consistent monitoring, testing, and auditing of HR data
  • Assess and analyze human capital data, both horizontally across all businesses and vertically within a business area
  • Use analyses to provide insights about the effectiveness of people management practices including recruiting, employee relations, performance management, retention, turnover, talent management, mobility, career progression, diversity, etc.
  • Design and develop dashboards to answer relevant business questions and report data.
  • Responsible for both compliance reporting (EEO, AAP) and all audit related reporting requests
  • Recommend and help deploy changes to policy and process which would improve quality, accuracy, and timeliness of captured data

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years HR, business, or data analytics
  • Demonstrated analytical skill and proven experience in applying a systematic and disciplined approach to resolving complex issues
  • Story telling ability to explain why the data and analysis matter
  • Demonstrated effective communicate skills, both written and oral in both formal and informal settings
  • Collaborative nature to work effectively with other departments
  • Solid knowledge of HR to understand what drives attraction, engagement, retention and performance within the organization
  • Strong understanding of systems and technology and ability to independently learn new technology
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills demonstrated by the ability to assimilate new information, understand relationships in data
  • Strong attention to detail, including the ability to analyze information from a variety of sources to track and report data
