Job Description

Volt is seeking a HR Generalist, to join our team working with our client, a global leader in business transaction automation at their GREENSBORO, North Carolina location. This is a temporary assignment with the possibility of converting to client's staff, depending on factors such as attendance and performance.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide general operational support to the HR function. Serve as a first point of contact for employees requiring HR assistance. The Coordinator performs duties in some, or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, event planning, administration of policies, employee communication and office support in the HR area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provide human resources administrative support to the assigned facility.

• Responsibilities include administering payroll, coordinating FMLA/STD paperwork, providing SAP Time & Attendance training, maintaining HR Master data & personnel files and running/maintaining reports.

• Coordinates a variety of on-boarding tasks for contingent workers as well as full-time workers.

• Process paperwork for new hires and various employee changes and terminations in the HRIS system.

• Assists employees with the navigation of the company internal website.

• Possesses in depth knowledge of the employee handbook, company policies and procedures.

• Assist employees with basic HR questions.

• Provide administrative support to the facility which may include routing calls, mail and faxes, copying and filing, ordering supplies, coordinating meetings and processing invoices.

• May coordinate facility specific programs (reward & recognition, picnics).

• May include administration of hourly attendance policy and may include logging and tracking of disciplinary actions when policy is not followed

• May advise on interpretation of company policies and employee relations issues.

• Provide back up to Sr. HR Manager as needed from time to time

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Associate’s Degree preferred.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• 3+ years administrative experience to include experience with payroll, benefits, safety and/or Human Resources.

• Strong computer skills which also include a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Ability to handle confidential materials in a professional manner.

• Ability to multitask and work in independently.

• Must be comfortable in a plant setting and follow necessary safety precautions when spending required time on the manufacturing floor.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels

• Ability to identify and solve problems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.

• Prior experience with ADP payroll products

• HRIS experience (Oracle strongly desired)
