Our opportunity is for a Human Resources Business Partner, you must be a local Santa Barbara candidate.

Position Purpose

Delivers high quality people related services to ensure productivity, engagement and appropriate resources for assigned business units/ function, including activity in the areas of employee relations, talent acquisition & management and organization change programs.  This role ideally encompasses both tactical as well as some more strategic activities in servicing the needs of the client organizations

Business Partner Responsibilities

Partners to implement corporate HR programs and initiatives in conjunction with other team or project members; Partners with client departments to conduct and administer compensation review cycles, performance management/ succession planning programs, workforce planning and organizational change programs. Assists and advises senior management in the development of solutions through organizational development, culture and process. 

Educates employees and managers on compensation practices; performance management, career development and various other talent management issues. 

Provide advice and counsel to managers and employees on performance related issues, including identifying key talent and leadership planning.

Employee Relations

Works closely with management in the implementation of corporate policies related to human resources, organizational and employee development at the business unit or division level. Consults with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach.


This role may be called upon to provide tactical HR support to employees and managers and other HR staff. Such activities maybe reporting, analytics and employee documentation and using HR systems and tools

Talent Acquisition

Works with hiring managers to document requirements of job openings as required opening requisition(s). Determines appropriate recruiting sources for advertising and posting positions. Pre-screens resumes and evaluates effectiveness of electronic candidate evaluation tools. Documents candidate evaluation and interview process. Negotiates and/or supports hiring manager in developing new hire compensation package/offers. Works with agencies, recruiting contractors and/or internet website representatives in the course of conducting employment advertising campaigns. Key skills and abilities include coaching, influencing, facilitation, presentation, communication, process development, analysis and problem solving, Collaborative

Must be local Santa Barbara candidate

  • Must have 5 plus years as a HR Business Partner
  • Strong organizational development background (Team Effectiveness, Coaching, Culture)
  • Track record of effective partnering and execution against goals
  • Foundational understanding of HR analytics and experience with HR systems & tools
  • Strong communication skills, including influencing to support innovation
  • Highly collaborative style
  • Resourceful, inventive, agile self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Solid grounding in employee relations management. 
  • Ability to coach, mentor and advise where appropriate to help employees grow and develop in alignment with business and personal goals
  • Strong judgment to balance company needs while partnering with managers and employees alike.
  • Ability to quickly learn about new business areas and build business insight.
  • Experience developing smaller scale development programs to meet custom business needs. • Experience with workforce planning and analytics.
