Job Description

The HR Business Partner will be responsible for providing strong HR consultation to all levels of employees. This position assists employees and management in all HR aspects, such as employee relations, investigations, interpreting company policies and practices, problem-solving and ensuring compliance with local, state and federal employment laws and regulations including wage and hour law, labor law and civil rights law.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming telephone calls from field operations to handle operational issues related to Human Resources discipline.
  • Work with managers to ensure that their employees are performing to metrics/standards and utilize performance management methodologies to ensure consistent, measurable performance.
  • Manage employee relations issues from temporary and in-house employees.
  • Intake and investigate complaints of discrimination and harassment from temporary and in-house employees. Perform full-cycle investigation procedures to ensure proper investigation protocols are followed.
  • Ensure timely and effective customer service on all incoming calls and e-mails within 24 hours.
  • Conduct training on HR Training modules.
  • Travel to various worksites to conduct training or handle employee relations/investigations.
  • Interact with customers to co-handle complaints from temporary employees on assignment to our customers.
  • Ability to arrive to work at a specified time.

Perform special assignments and complete projects as needed.

Position Qualifications:

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

Bachelor's Degree preferably in a related field.

Experience in a large, complex, multi-state company required

Experience using PeopleSoft a plus.HR Generalist experience required
Some travel required

Knowledge & Skills:

Knowledge of federal and multi-state wage and hour laws. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Exceptional organizational skills and multi-tasking ability. Sense of urgency. Ability to work well independently and exercise professional judgment with minimal day-to-day supervision. Advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft 8.9 and running queries in PeopleSoft 8.9Advanced knowledge of MS Office specifically, Access, Excel and PowerPoint. Effectively communicate in writing. Effectively communicate verbally including by telephone. Effectively communicate in-person with internal staff, external customers and field employees. Ability to perform business presentation skills. Ability to create complex business correspondence
