Job Description

The Human Resource Business Partner is directly responsible for the human resource function at the fulfillment center and the handling the day-to-day HR operations (~150 employees and contractors), and providing human resources support to management at the facility.   

Essential Functions

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Resolves and addresses employee questions and concerns by partnering with the leadership team.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding. 
  • Manages leave of absences and ADA accommodations. 
  • Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures for all exempt and non-exempt personnel at the facility, in coordination with corporate office.
  • Promote and develop positive employee relations by providing HR support to the fulfillment center.
  • Administers the compensation program and revises as necessary.
  • Maintains the I-9 process and e-verify.
  • Fully utilize the HRIS (Workforce Now) capabilities for recordkeeping and providing reports. 
  • Interpret company policies and procedures to ensure consistency for facility leadership and employees.
  • Consult with line management and provide daily HR guidance to all levels of employees.
  • Conducts training as needed.
  • Handles exit interviews.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Employee relations counseling and investigations as needed.
  • Resolve complex employee relation issues and addresses grievances under HR Director or HR Business Partner’s direction.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
  • Handles Workers’ Compensation.
  • Maintains employee records and files.
  • Updates HR database.

Required Experience/Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment/fulfillment center.
  • A bachelor's degree and five years of human resource experience, or 10 years of experience in the HR field.
  • Bilingual/Spanish.
  • Solid knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
  • Ability to work from office on a daily basis.
  • Ability to work full-time.
  • Must be able to work independently.  This is a single person HR site that works with a team of HR professionals at other locations.
  • Must be a team player with other HR professionals at different locations. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Good organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification a plus.
  • Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now a plus.
  • Ability to travel occasionally if needed.
