We are looking to hire a Human Resources Generalist level 1 for our Client in the Agricultural and Farming Equipment Industry for approximately a 2 year assignment with the possibility of extension in Edmonton, AB, through Volt Workforce Solutions Canada.

Job description:

  • Pay Rate: $26.37/hr (T4) + 4% vacation pay
  • Shift: Hours of work typically from Mon-Fri 7:30am-2pm, 9am-3:30pm 
  • Term: Approximately from 04/22/2019 – 04/23/2021 with the possibility of extension
  • Hours per day: 8  
  • Hours per week: 40

    Scope of Role:

    • Performs routine activities within the Human Resources area to support the major processes.
    • This is a basic Human Resources job typically occupied by a recent college graduate or a longer term employee who has risen through the administrative ranks.
    • Duties:
      • Performs routine activities within Human Resources to support major processes such as compensation and benefits, staffing and employee development, training and development, safety and health, legal compliance and employee communications and global job evaluation.
      • Performs staffing and workforce planning activities for production, non-exempt, or entry level professional employees.
      • Provides information to employees and managers regarding routine questions and issues.
      • Gathers and compiles data to support compliance efforts such as legal requirements, Health and Safety, and other such areas.
      • Maintains employee information as a liaison between employees and Client Direct in addition to information maintained at unit.
      • Utilizes Human Resource tools such as SAP and Business Objects to view and extract data used to respond to requests for information.
      • Participates in compensation and benefits process by gathering information, preparing paperwork, and other activities to support the process.
      • Conducts/coordinates delivery of training courses utilizing both internal and external resources to provide tools to meet needs.
      • Typically certified to deliver a variety of Client approved courses

    Qualifications and Requirements: Technical Skills & Knowledge::

    • Prefer SAP experience
    • Prior recruitment experience
    • Skill in major Human Resources processes such as interviewing, job documentation, and training. (Has a general understanding of the principles and uses the knowledge with assistance.)
    • HR principles and procedures in such areas as employee/labor relations compensation and benefits, staffing and employee development, training and development, safety and health, employee communications and legal and corporate compliance. (Has a general understanding of the principles and uses the knowledge with assistance.)
    • Skill in utilizing tools and software that support Human Resources processes. (Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.)
    • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office plus intranet and internet functions. (Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.)
    • Top Requirements:
      • 1. Customer service experience.
      • 2. Proven project execution from work experience.
      • 3. HR Admin work experience.
      • 4. Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint (must be listed on resume) and SAP is highly desired.
      • Note: no driving is required for this position.

    Project Execution:

    • This contingent role will also back-fill the reception position when that person is out of the office or on breaks/lunch.
