Job Description

A Great company in Carpinteria CA is looking for a hands-on generalist to works closely with the managers and supervisors at two companies under the same ownership,  to ensure the effective use of the company’s human resources and comply with all relevant state and federal regulations. Direct implementation of the policies, procedures, and programs for employee benefits, training and development, compensation, performance management, occupational safety, staffing, disciplinary actions, separations, leaves of absence, and other HR functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Prepare HR policies, procedures, and programs, including updated Employee Handbooks in English and Spanish. Ensure that HR professional practices are fully communicated and implemented across the organization, and all HR components are operating effectively and within compliance.

2. Develop and provide all required paperwork and forms for new hires. Maintain files of job postings, resumes, employment applications, exit interviews, and related documents. Conduct new hire orientations.

3. Manage performance reviews, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions. Work closely with managers and supervisors on the documents for their employees.

4. Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.

5. Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

6. Confer with management to develop or implement personnel policies or procedures.

10. Active Learning – Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.

11. Monitoring – Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
