General Accountabilities

Our client is currently hiring a full time Human Resources & Talent Manager for the Clayton, North Carolina facility. The Human Resources & Talent Manager is accountable for assisting with the development, design and implementation of HR programs and practices, while leading the ongoing administration of a variety of HR services such as Health and Safety, Recruitment, Selection, Attraction and Retention initiatives, Performance Management, Compensation Administration, Employee Engagement and Employee Relations Strategies. This position works closely with the VP of Operations, Corporate Human Resources, management and employees to ensure that programs and practices are in place that support company objectives, are cost effective and are in compliance with legislation.



Specific Accountabilities

  • The incumbent is responsible for the implementation of the overall recruitment and on boarding process for the client group.
  • The Human Resources & Talent Manager will be responsible for identifying and resolving employee relations and workplace conflict problems. This will focus on education as well as providing counselling and corrective action tools.
  • This position is responsible for advising and coaching management relative to human resources policies, employment law and employment law compliance. To accomplish this, the incumbent will conduct training programs for both management and professional employees.
  • The Human Resources & Talent Manager is responsible for developing and customizing employee engagement initiatives.
  • The position is responsible for the proper maintenance of position descriptions, job analysis and job evaluation information for all positions within the company.
  • The incumbent will ensure proper processing of benefits while aiding and educating employees with respect to their benefits, and working with applicable colleagues and employees to ensure mutually beneficial return to work strategies and WC, Cobra, STD and LTD case management.
  • Assist in establishing, maintaining, and monitoring the environmental, health & safety programs, with a view to support corporate and client business goals and objectives.
  • Address First Aid, medical needs, incidents, near misses, and generate appropriate documentation, maintaining all appropriate on-site records.
  • Conduct workplace inspection and monthly JHSC meeting; complete JHSC minutes.
  • Conduct/coordinate EH&S training as directed and developed by the corporate office and management.
  • The Human Resources & Talent Manager is responsible for compiling and reporting Human Resources information such as headcount, workplace accidents, turnover, etc. to both internal and external contacts.


Skills and Attributes

  • Strong manufacturing experience particularly in rapidly growing environment.<
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and human relations skills to deal with sensitive and confidential employee matters.
  • Keen business sense when problem solving, analyzing information and making decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong negotiation, coaching, and persuasion skills.
  • Strong project management skills and effective execution skills to ensure successful delivery/implementation of special initiatives, products, processes and policies.
  • Demonstrated initiative and flexibility; acts proactively in identifying and capitalizing on opportunities.
  • Adept at building and managing relationships effectively and be able to gain the confidence of business leaders quickly.


Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • A University degree/College diploma and/or equivalent experience in a field related to Human Resources Management.
  • 4 - 6 years experience in Human Resources in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources practices and principles, as well as knowledge of all applicable labor, human rights, and health and safety legislation.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as HRIS software knowledge.
