Job Description

Volt is seeking to hire Industrial Maintenance Mechanics to support a growing metal recycling operation in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas area.  As part of the team, the maintenance mechanic is responsible for continuous monitoring of all installed equipment and systems for proper operation, able to troubleshoot and identify equipment/system issue's and implement safely predictive/preventive/corrective measures to ensure asset reliability. Interpret blueprints/schematics drawings, use hand/ power tools or special tools in support of maintaining machinery, equipment, and systems.

This is a direct hire hourly position with a work schedule expected to accommodate business needs as well as working conditions which include exposure to heat and cold.


  • Possess specific fundamental knowledge of bearings, power transmission equipment, and hydraulics/pneumatics, and lubrication, fluid pumping systems, heat transfer, welding principles, rigging, overhead cranes and mobile equipment operation in support of all facility issues
  • Must have electrical knowledge as well as industrial wiring
  • Effectively monitors/inspects equipment for defects. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, and other measuring instruments


  • A minimum of three (3) years of in-trade industrial heavy equipment maintenance experience
  • Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and business leaders
  • Great organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Basic math skills
  • Experience with welding, cutting, fabrication and equipment maintenance
  • Must have valid drivers' license.
  • Proficient skill level utilizing Microsoft Office Suite software and SAP preferred
  • Basic electrical knowledge
