Sales/Business Development at Heartland Steel Products

  • Full-time- Remote but does require travel
  • HQ is based out of Ohio but this role covers the West Region.
  • Travel is required, but not a road warrior role. They will need to be able to travel 30-50% of the time. CA, Nevada, Oregon, WA all good states to target, needs to be in those areas. 

Must Haves- 

  • Industrial, steel, manufacturing, construction sales background working with system integrators, dealers, contractors that would purchase platforms/mezzanines. 
  • Experience with long-term relationship based sales, this is not a make 100 calls a day role. 
  • Must have experience interfacing with engineers
  • Must be very familiar with the manufacturing process 
  • Must have experience with creating in depth sales presentations 

The Business Development & Sales Specialist is responsible for cultivating sales of Heartland Steel Products engineered platforms/mezzanines and stairs in the Western United States

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Position requires residences anywhere west of the Rocky Mountains
  • Ability to work remotely in a home office
  • Previous experience selling engineered platforms/mezzanines required
  • 30%-50% travel required
  • Develop a network of reoccurring revenue streams via General Contractors, Engineering Firms, and System Integrators
  • Work closely with engineering to develop scopes of projects, drive specifications, and meet deadlines
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for the product lines
  • Manage Dodge Reports and other lead generation outlets to drive sales and build pipeline activity

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or five years related experience and/or training required
  • Expert with Microsoft Office programs (including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Project)
  • Prior experience selling platforms/mezzanines
