Information Security Governance and Compliance Engineer

Volt is looking to hire an Information Security Governance and Compliance Engineer for our Client in the Procurement industry in Montreal, QC. This role is offered on a 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension.

This is a consulting role in Montreal, Canada providing design and implementation expertise to the client’s data classification and protection program. The position coordinates with multiple IT, cybersecurity, and business units to support and deploy global secure solutions that empower and enable.

  • Managing design, governance and deployment of the client’s cloud-based data protection program;
  • Creation of auditing and reporting components of data governance across the enterprise;
  • Application of existing technology in tandem with custom designs to leverage appropriate and accurate reporting of data governance to audit and control teams;
  • Work with disparate projects, teams and business units to collaborate appropriate design to provide for demand and adoption;
  • Identify and resolve gaps in governance and controls with a focus in data protection;
  • Application of cybersecurity best practices for data and application control across desktop and mobile devices;
  • Work with application and network architects and input into change projects where new products are bought in or changes are made to existing applications or infrastructure.


  • Strong background in Security architecture and business analysis;
  • Experience designing and supporting data identification with Microsoft Azure Information Protection (AIP) is preferred;
  • Experience in Cybersecurity governance and controls with SaaS, Paas and Iaas deployments, especially supporting the protection of IP and PII;
  • Knowledgeable about Cloud security specific to private/public implementations within MS Azure;
  • Strong understanding of international data privacy requirements and how GDPR affects data protection;
  • Experience creating high-quality policy guidelines and business use documentation Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; commercial and financial acumen; and solid business judgement.
