VOLT’s client is looking for a Helpdesk Tech – Part Time

Overview

Information Systems Technician is responsible for providing help desk response along with maintenance and support of the computer systems, telecom, and security cameras located at the Client’s facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide help desk support for the Client’s staff and volunteers as needed.
  • Update and create documentation for improved request tracking and system support.
  • Maintain file backup systems and processes.
  • Perform MAC (Move, Add, Changes) for computers, networking and phones.
  • Install new and/or upgrade computer and network hardware and software systems.
  • Troubleshoot problems with hardware and software systems.
  • Maintain and repair computer equipment as needed.
  • Set up computer security measures (access control, anti-virus, filtering)
  • Assess short and long-term hardware and software needs.
  • Set up and maintain security camera systems.
  • Maintain basic Telecomm (PBX phone system) related to MAC (Move, Add, Changes)
  • Provide web and graphics support as needed (browser compatibility, forms, interfaces)
  • Other IT related job duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Must be familiar with Windows and MAC/Apple systems operating systems.
  • Must be familiar with Windows office applications.
  • Demonstrated communication skills through personal interaction, email, and telephone.
  • Dependable regular work attendance.
  • While performing this job the employee may be required to stoop, kneel, crawl in tight spaces, climb ladders, and lift or move heavy items greater than 20 lbs. 

Possible Projects:

  1. Upgrade all computers to minimum of Windows 10 Pro
  2. Upgrade computer memory and disc (SSD) in existing computers as needed
  3. Expand file service storage, duplication and backup systems
  4. Upgrade all MS windows application (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc) to latest version
  5. Update all print drivers for Windows and MAC users
  6. Clean up network and PBX phone connections
  7. Finish installing upgrades and integration of security cameras
