Job Title: Dimensional/Mechanical Inspector

Location: Beltsville, MD

Job Description

The chosen candidate will be responsible for performing dimensional inspection using stationary and portable CMM equipment. Position will be 1st shift initially (6:30 AM - 4:00PM), but will transition to a later shift after initial training (8:00 AM - 5:30 PM)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interpret and report results of inspections in accordance with organizational procedures.
  • Performs specific analyses of samples of raw materials, packaging components, and bulk, intermediate, or finished products according to established procedures,
  • Determine conformance to accepted specifications
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Interpret, evaluate and communicate drawing requirements
  • Participate in the closure of discrepant material issues

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • Thorough knowledge in all aspects of GD&T a must.
  • Ability to perform CMM programming (PCDMIS), a plus
  • Use of all measuring tools and hand set up required.
  • Dayshift with the potential of night shift available. Some overtime will be mandatory.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills
  • Must be able to bend, stoop & lift up to 25 pounds
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a similar inspector role required. 10 years’ experience preferred
  • Strong aerospace experience required

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required. Commensurate work experience may be substituted for degree.
