Job Description

Volt has partnered with an online legal services company that brings easily accessible and affordable legal products to consumers and small business owners, with a focus on the customer experience. This innovative, industry-leader is looking for an Instructional Designer to join their growing team!

The Instructional Designer analyzes tasks, jobs, and target audience requirements to design training strategies that effectively close gaps between current and desired performance.

Responsibilities:

  • conduct task and job analysis
  • plan, implement, and manage complex, multi-divisional projects with aggressive deadlines
  • solve for intrinsic and extrinsic challenges impacting performance
  • use systems and applications to develop and manage instructional content
  • communicate and interact effectively with individuals at all levels in ways that promote mutual understanding and effective decision-making
  • respond readily to changes in the industry, environment, and organization, and take constructive steps to address them
  • Design or update instructional products including but not limited to:
    • Instructor-led materials
    • Supportive learning materials such as job aids or tip sheets
    • On-the-Job training programs
    • eLearning
    • Multi-media programs

Requirements:

  • 2- 4 years instructional design experience
  • Knowledge of instructional system design and development models, principles, and practices
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and methodology, and their application in training delivery
  • Experience with development and implementation of organization-wide projects
  • Experience with development of online and paper-based instruction
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels
  • Adept at building rapport and listening to customer needs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Proficient with MS Office suite and web-based software
  • Experience with e-Learning software
  • Availability to work overtime during evenings, weekends and holidays
