Job Description

The Inventory Asset Control Specialist is responsible for receiving all tangible goods, transacting receipts of same and distribution of those goods. Data entry of all goods into proprietary computer system with asset tagging of technical inventory. Receiver transports material to vendors and between internal sites.


  • Physically receive all tangible goods, transact receipts and distribute material
  • Match packing slips with goods to ensure accuracy of shipment
  • Notify Purchasing of discrepancies, damages or quality issues
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • Using the Company truck transport goods received between buildings (2)
  • Inventory replenishment
  • Cycle counting
  • Responsible for checking each receipt for SDS
  • Determine if current copy is up to date.  If it is, no further action required
  • If SDS is not up to date, scan into SBMS and print hard copy for SDS books

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience
  • 5 years’ experience or more in a comparable role
  • Must have a forklift experience
  • Data Entry, Microsoft office experience
  • Forklift truck, electric pallet jack and the order selector
  • Must a driver’s license in good standing to drive the two company vehicles

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to use Company equipment safely and responsibility
  • Moderate computer skills required and knowledge of IT products
  • Understanding of inventory management
  • Willing to analyze and improve processes
