Job Description

We are seeking for an Inventory Control Clerk for a great company located in Harrisburg, PA.

  • Position:    Inventory Control Clerk
  • Location:   Harrisburg, PA 17110
  • Duration:   14 months
  • Schedule:  Need candidates who are flexible with their schedule and can accommodate a 5 am start time, with variable of the week and weekends
  • Pay rate:    $ 17.18 hr

Job Responsibilities

  • Process all store returns.
  • Product would be placed on pallets to return to stock in either warehouse.
  • Cases would be taped or repaired in a state ready to be selected for the next customer.
  • Close dated or out of date product would be separated as whether it could be sold as salvage or marked for pig farmer.
  • Sign and date all pick up documents and return to inventory control coordinator for SOX recorded keeping.
  • Pull salvage product using reports generated by Quality Control using the “pull date” column.
  • Build stable, secure pallets with the pulled product and label with pallet number tag.
  • Enter items pulled on excel spreadsheet itemizing by pallet.
  • Pull any product to be salvaged as directed by buying department, inventory control department or by chargeback.
  • Correctly fill out chargeback paperwork and return to inventory control coordinator.
  • Update home slot quantities using telxon functions when removing product from the home slot.
  • Make inventory adjustments in the system using the MW1K screen.
  • Have knowledge of inventory control functions on the telxon.
  • Transfer product to the 50RTV with telxon functions as directed by Quality Control.
  • Run weekly reports on close dated perishable product to identify product that needs to be pulled using MW699 and MW697 reports.
  • Run discontinued item reports (MW734) to identify discontinued items with inventory.
  • Coordinate and load salvage pickups with salvage dealer.
  • Communicate information as needed with inventory control, reclaim, Quality Control, buying department and warehouse supervision.
  • Receive, understand and respond to emails regarding salvage product using good communication skills.
  • Be able to safely operate forklift and pallet jack in conjunction with job duties.
  • Other clerical duties as directed by the supervisor

Job Requirements

  • Working knowledge and experience, preferably in both mechanized and conventional warehousing, in picking and storage operations in dry grocery and perishable areas.
  • Experience in operating all types of warehouse material handling equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of warehouse slotting system required.
  • Possess ability to understand and interpret computer reports.
  • General knowledge of EDP applications and computer capabilities helpful.
  • Prior experience with personal computer applications preferred.
  • Possess good oral and written communication skills, both with co-workers and over the telephone with outside and Company personnel.
  • Possess good math skills and figure aptitude.
  • Must be available to work flexible or unusual hours as needed, including weekends.

Physical Environment

  • Some work is performed under general office conditions in a temperature-controlled environment.
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
  • Incumbent will be moving about the Distribution Center warehouse floor, breaking down loads and lifting between 40 and 60 lbs. on a daily basis.
  • Potential hazards exist in regard to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, movement of tractors and trailers, etc.
  • Incumbent will use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment.
