Job Description

Volt seeks qualified IT analysts for our Major client located in Washington DC.  Our Client is a leading technology integrator providing full lifecycle services and solutions in the technical, engineering, and enterprise information technology markets. Their deep domain knowledge and customer relationships enable the delivery of systems engineering and integration offerings for large, complex government and commercial projects.

The IT Asset Manager will manage the operations of the IT procurement and inventory management function.  Candidates will manage the maintenance of records and databases containing information regarding software licenses, warranties, and service agreements for the organization's assets. The candidate will work to minimize organizational cost through product standardization and tracking.

The IT Asset Manager will also be responsible for staying current on changes to vendor licensing models and metrics.  Candidates will conduct research and provide recommendations to ensure the company keeps current with ever-changing technology and information in the field of software licensing and compliance.


REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • IT asset management experience
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of software asset management principles and practices
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to accumulate, organize and assimilate large amounts of information
  • Proficiency of hardware technology and configurations including virtualization
  • Proven ability to take initiative and be self-motivated
  • An understanding of the vast differences in software vendor licensing and the specific details around hardware, platform and usage needs
  • Experience with vendor software audits

SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE:

  • MS Windows and Office, Active Directory, Anti-virus, CA Incident Management Tool, VPN, Avaya, remote management experience, knowledge management, web support, previous desk-side support and IT hardware technical troubleshooting repair.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and/or at least 7 years of experience in the Asset Management field or in a related area

INDUSTRY CERTIFCATIONS:

  • Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) certification
  • Certified Software Asset Management (CSAM) certification
