Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is hiring immediately for an Information Technology, Network Designer in Kent WA.

Identifies, analyzes and documents requirements for network transport technologies and services. Creates and documents designs that conform to architectural and security standards. Prepares, deploys and coordinates installation of implementation packages per Boeing standards. Performs maintenance of network systems.

Must have a current US Secret Clearance.  Interim will not be accepted for this position

Skill Set Needed:
• Installs and upkeeps hardware and software
- Including Cisco, and Symantec
• Must have IPv4 Networks and Routing troubleshooting experience
- Including BGP, and OSPF
• Must have switch configuration/troubleshooting experience
- Including stacked switches, and bridges (BVI)
• Maintains inventories and diagrams
- Maintained in Powerpoint and Visio
• Conducts maintenance of systems (Updates)
- Must have experience upgrading IOS on Cisco Routers, and Switches
• Monitors systems
• Performs basic Troubleshooting
- Including Circuit Issues with Providers, Routing issues, Switch / Vlan issues
• Assists the Network Operations Center as an escalation for troubleshooting
• Assists the Senior Network Engineer and Architect on project work
- Including Design review, build out, testing, and deployment
• Follows procedures and record keeping requirements
• Adherence to regular and predictable attendance and punctuality
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Certification: Have a valid CCNA certification
• Computer Skills – Visio, Spreadsheet Software, and Word Processing (Microsoft Office) Software, and Data Entry
• College Degree Required
• Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
• Mathematical Ability - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education and Experience:  Technical bachelor’s degree and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or a Master’s degree with typically 3 or more years’ or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematics, scientific or information technology field of study.
