Job Description

Jobdesc:

  • Responsible for installing and maintaining Network Servers and related hardware devices and software.
  • Respond to requests for technical network hardware and software assistance. Supervisor and prioritize the work activities of assigned personnel and contractors.
  • Provide technical training for subordinates.
  • Ensures customer data and phone requirements are met in a timely fashion. Ensure key data and telecommunications systems are maintained in an operational state.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

1. Manage and maintain network hardware and software so that network resources are available on demand.

2. Ensure that LAN and WAN integrity and security is maintained at all times. Report violations to upper management if should occur.

3. Manage network equipment purchasing and work with vendors.

4. Perform or supervise backups and maintenance of off-site backup storage.

5. Manage directories, users, network shares, anti-virus protections and network server resources.

6. Train network users, answer questions, resolve problems, and communicate changes in software and operations.

7. Participate in technology planning and budgeting.

8. Develop support staff and ensure there are qualified backups in his or her absence.

9. Pro-actively look for ways to better apply technology to the organization's primary mission.

10. Seek assistance of IT Operations Manager or outside contract support for tasks beyond the capabilities of level 1.

1. Determine priority of assigned work and delegate when appropriate.

12. Support the maintenance of the Help Desk database by providing timely updates for assigned work.

13. Coordinate with software and hardware vendors to ensure resources are kept current.

14. Coordinate with customers and vendors to ensure that data and phone requirements are met.

15. Act as a resource for network issues within the organization.

16. Coordinates physical plant requirements of IT and its Customer Review technicians' repairs and installations.

17. Prepares specifications/procedures and analyzes plans for physical capacity measurements of computer facilities.

18. Evaluate equipment needs and recommend changes and improvements.

19. General file maintenance, housekeeping, and other duties as required. Requirements: Completion of Network Systems Administration program or a minimum of 2 years experience as a Network Administrator.
