Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking an Quality Assurance Analyst to work onsite at John Deere’s facility in East Moline, IL. This is a contingent position expected to last 1 year.   

As a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst you will provide expertise and consultative services associated with the testing process. You will design, develop and implement the testing strategy for the dealer business system and related integrations with other software applications. In addition, you will:

  • Review requirements for the development of test plans for projects of varying levels of complexity
  • Develop automated and manual test cases ERP/CRM system related projects
  • Create detailed test plans, including scheduling
  • Manage the defect process and communicate results, including metrics, required by stakeholders
  • Communicate the status of the test process and the quality of the system under test
  • Work with others on the testing team and timely completion of projects
  • Prioritize quality and testing related project work assignments for multiple projects and teams
  • Identify, recommend and implement changes/process improvements to enhance the effectiveness of automated and manual test strategies and framework; provides solutions for bottlenecks within the processes.
  • Provide assistance and recommendations on test related procedures and tools related to configuration management, change management, release management and production management
  • Continuously upgrade testing skills by attending training, conferences and reading white papers
  • Willingness to accept coaching and training from others in the testing, methodology and evaluation processes

What Skills You Need

  • 2+ years of experience in programming/software development and contributing to the success of technical software development projects.
  • 2+ years of information technology experience and/or business experience
  • 2+ years of experience using relevant information, tools, and/or protocols to assure that system components (HW, SW, cloud computing services) comply with specifications or standards
  • Knowledgeable in the creation, maintenance and ongoing updating of automated and manual regression and user acceptance testing libraries organized around large scale, DBS or ERP system updates
  • Business process knowledge of assigned area(s) and/or function(s)
  • Understanding of on-premise and cloud computing technology, methodology, and full life-cycle development

What Makes You Stand Out

Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics for Finance and Operations
  • Experience or familiarity working with John Deere data, products, and services
  • Familiarity with using and testing web services with either a tool, direct Java or .NET code
  • Experience with software quality assurance or automated testing
  • Preference given to candidates with Multi-Lingual skills (English/Spanish or English/Portuguese or English / French or English/Spanish/Portuguese)

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:

  • Degree in an Information Technology discipline or equivalent experience
  • Agile Development and QFD certifications also desired
