IT Support Specialist – Dover, MA – Direct Hire

Volt Workforce Solutions has an immediate opening for an IT Support Specialist in the Greater Boston area. Our client has celebrated over 20 years, providing a wide range of Technical Support services for professional clientele in the Financial and Legal sectors.  Candidate must be able to commute to customer sites within the Boston 128 Belt.

Most of the services provided can be done remotely, but there will be times where it will be necessary to be onsite with the client. You will be responsible for providing support to end-user community on hardware, software and network related problems or questions.  Depending on the client it could be a Tier I, II or III level of support.  Platforms are largely Microsoft based, but some Apple and Android for mobile devices.

Requirements:

  • A two or four-year post-high school degree or certification in a technical field
  • 2-3 years’ experience in the IT field, preferably in a helpdesk or customer service capacity
  • Experience in the set-up, configuration, use and troubleshooting of laptops and desktops
  • Experience with setup of Apple and Android mobile devices
  • Recent customer service/helpdesk experience required.  Given that this position interfaces with the client, professional and courteous demeanor is required at all times.
  • Candidate must also possess excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and telephone etiquette.
  • Successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of and experience with computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices in a diverse environment. A good understanding of the fundamentals of network technology including, but not limited to, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LANs, WANs, NAT and Wireless
  • Candidate must provide a high level of interfacing with co-workers, and communicate effectively with the client, IT personnel, and management.
  • Candidate must be decisive, conscientious, and interact well both independently and in a team setting.
  • Good documentation skills required
  • Candidate must have reliable transportation to commute to customer sites within the Boston 128 Belt.
  • Ability to manage high job complexity – prioritize and meet multiple customer requirements
  • Strong familiarity with internet technology and user interface concepts
  • A+ Certification preferred
  • MCSE or MCSA preferred
