Job Description

Volt is looking for an Information Technology (IT) Analyst located in Seguin, TX in a contingent position forecasted for 1 year. As an IT Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work both independently and with a cooperative team on complex projects that may span multiple infrastructure components or applications. You will develop your professional network and leadership skills, assisting in the creation and support of IT Solutions that enable our customers success. Further, you will contribute real value by developing, integrating, and/or supporting in-house and purchased applications or infrastructure solutions to solve business problems. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Working directly on application / technical problem identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support functions.
  • Participating in integrated testing and user acceptance of application or infrastructure components.
  • Working with vendors on the integration of purchased application(s) and/or infrastructure.
  • Designing and implementing processes, or process improvements, to aid in development and support.
  • Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
  • Adherence to Technology controls and security protocols.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary on/off-shift and during weekends.
  • Provide day to day support of the network environment for the South Texas facilities and global network operations support as necessary. Participate in an on-call rotation, approx. every 6 weeks. They will be the local site contact for LAN and wireless LAN related issues.


  • Computer-related or Engineering-related four-year College or University Degree OR three to six years of progressively responsible IT job-related experiences.
  • LAN and WLAN implementation and support, knowledge of risk domains, tiered domains, TCP/IP fundamentals, ethernet, QoS, IP subnetting, cabling (copper & fiber), OSPF, VLAN Trunking, VLANs, and switching configuration.
  • Functional experience with wireless communications technologies utilizing Cisco controllers, access points and bridges.
  • Experience with Service Center tools (ServiceNow).
  • Reliable transportation

Desired Qualifications:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • ITIL v4 foundation certification
  • Experience with automation technologies and scripting
  • Experience working on or around heavy equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Relevant work experience with medium to large companiesLAN / WLAN implementation and operations management work experience with medium to large companies
