Job Description

We are working on a search for a temp-to-hire IT Technical Support Specialist at Cohu. We are willing to consider a full-time IT Intern or IT Technical Support Specialist.  Our desired pay range is $17-$19 per hour, but we can go up to $21 for the right candidate, if desired, depending on experience.

Both SharePoint and O365 would be basic administration including user account management and basic troubleshooting

Position Summary:

Responsible for providing end user support and software, hardware, and network assistance. Relies on experience and judgment as well as pre-established procedure and instructions to identify, research and resolve technical problems presented through Level I, II and III (when possible) trouble tickets. Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities

  1. Respond to and provide Tier I and Tier II escalation services support services for our global multi-divisional user base through an internet based help desk ticketing system, telephone, voice mail, e-mail, and person to person requests.
  2. Install and upgrade software including all versions of Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Professional Suites, SolidWorks, anti-virus software, and others, as directed. 
  3. Provide technical end-user support including software training.
  4. Modifies tests and corrects existing programs.
  5. Monitors inventory control, provides charge-back quotations and purchases stock replacement.
  6. Provide network backup systems support, including network infrastructure, DLT and DAT tape systems.
  7. Ability to complete multiple simultaneous projects in a timely manner.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:  None.

Qualifications: 

  • Education/Training:  Minimum of MCP, A+ or N+ Certification required.  MCITP and/or AA degree in computer science or related field desired.

  • Experience:  4+ years of experience in a technical Tier I and II Help Desk or PC support role installing, troubleshooting and maintaining software, hardware and peripheral devices in a LAN environment and overall upper level technical support.
