Job Description


  • Gain experience coming up to speed on legacy (Java) data tools/systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering groups to define a variety of data analysis/reporting tools.  Then develop, deploy and support the desired set of tools.
  • Assist in designing, developing and deploying EDS solutions capable of accommodating the requirements of the organization with high reliability and high performance for the next 5 years.
  • Integrate legacy data tools/systems with the Engineering Data Systems environment.
  • Support deployment of Engineering Data Systems servers and data analysis/reporting tools to other sites and contract manufacturing partners, both domestic and overseas.
  • Participate in setting and then complying with EDS standards for database schema, programming conventions, documentation, version control and revision tracking.
  • Implement robust monitoring systems and methodologies capable of quickly detecting and correcting abnormal system condition/performance before it impacts users or other systems.


  • BS in EE, CS or other technical discipline with at least 3-5 years of experience in an EDS type of role, although standout new college graduates with internship experience will be considered.
  • Detail oriented with strong fundamentals in disciplined programming methodologies.
  • Intermediate knowledge of statistics and probabilities is a plus.
  • Main code base is Java. Java is required for this role
  • Advanced knowledge and practical experience with Linux and MySQL.
  • Advanced knowledge and practical experience with D3, Flask or Django.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience programming in SQL, Java, Perl and Python.
  • Advanced knowledge and practical experience with database design and web programming.
  • Interest, or preferably experience, in “big data” and/or “cloud-based” storage and processing.
  • Excellent verbal and written “360 degree” communication skills.
  • Initiative to address and appropriately escalate problems to achieve rapid resolution.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering peer groups in a dynamic, collaborative, data directed and results oriented environment.
  • U.S. citizenship or “green card” and the ability to travel within the US and internationally.
  • Candidates with the qualifications above, plus a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Test Engineer or Yield Engineer in a semiconductor fabrication environment are highly desirable. 
  • The ideal candidate will be a generalist with regard to web programming, application programming, database design or database administration.  However, a specialist in one of these fields with a passion to diversify into the other fields would also be desirable.
