Job Description

This is a contract position.  The IT Jr. Helpdesk Tecnhician is responsible for supporting the computer end-user community.  This individual must have solid experience working with computers and basic networking knowledge.  Must have experience working in a professional business environment.  Provide assistance to concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems. Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment. Oversee the daily performance of computer systems. Maintain record of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial action taken, and installation activities on our Help Desk data base system.  Rate will vary pending skillsets and experience.  Minimum of 24 -40hrs week during business hours of 8am to 5pm.   

Examples of Essential Functions:

  • Perform basic computer builds and configuration for new hires
  • Installation and configuration of operating system(s), desktop applications and security/antivirus related software.
  • Deploy new computer equipment, including workstations and printers
  • Support basic Microsoft related technologies such as Windows OS, Office and Exchange,
  • Perform diagnostics and resolution. Escalates high priority requests and unresolved issues to the appropriate resources within IT.
  • Provide computer maintenance, virus removal, hardware evaluation
  • Accurately process, evaluate, document and prioritize requests with a goal of prompt resolution utilizing ticket tracking system.
  • Manage customer expectations by keeping open communication with end users and their request and setting expectations for resolution.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage priorities and workflow while providing accurate documentation and accountability.

Knowledge of:

Microsoft Products:  Windows Desktop OS 7 and 10.  MS Exchange.  MS Windows Servers. Experience working with DELL hardware product lines and Apple iPhones. 




  • Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science.
  • 1-2 years computer helpdesk experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-care.
  • Ability to work well with a team in a fast paced, constantly changing environment and follow instructions from supervisors and senior colleagues.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and a dedication to the customer service experience.
  • Dependable to be at work during assigned shifts and to complete work as expected.
  • Typing and communications skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request details.
  • Ability to multitask and meet specific goals set by supervisors and management.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to diagnose basic computer and technical issues.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changes quickly.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Fluency in speaking and writing English is required.
  • Light Lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
  • A+ and Microsoft Ceritification(s) is a plus.
