Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking Junior .NET Software Developer for our client in Millington, TN. This position will be supporting the Navy Personnel Command for program support of the BUPERS On-line systems (BOL) and Electronic Military Personnel Record System (EMPRS).  The candidate must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment and will develop web applications. Candidate will interface with end-users, system engineers and database administrators on a regular basis. Candidate is expected to have the analysis skills to solve problems. We are looking for a hard charging person willing to learn and grow as part of a dynamic team supporting new Navy personnel applications.

Required Experience:  This position requires a self-motivated, professional individual with basic experience designing and developing web applications, including:

  • Experience developing web applications using C# .NET, Visual Studio and relational databases.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or willingness to learn the .NET MVC Framework
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle, strong analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or willingness to learn Agile Scrum processes.

Primary Duties - The candidate will:

  • Maintain, develop, and integrate multi-tiered Microsoft .NET based web applications supporting Navy Personnel Command projects.
  • Complete coding tasks as assigned to support software reuse
  • Be a contributing member of the development team
  • Be responsible for program coding and documentation.
  • Develop system components per team lead guidance including services and user screens
  • Assist with application deployments

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Telerik and ReSharper is a plus.
  • Experience in designing, developing .NET based business applications is a plus.

Required Education: A computer science degree related to software development or 1+ years of C# .NET development experience.

Information Security Certification:  Prior to the hire date, the candidate must possess one of the following Information Security certifications.

  • Security+
  • CISA (Certified Information System Auditor)
  • GSE (GIAC Security Essentials)
  • CISSP (Certified Information System Security Professional)

Professional Certification:  Within six (6) months of hire date, the candidate must either obtain a commercial computing environment certification or a computing environment training certificate.
