Job Description

Our client is a boutique mortgage firm seeking a experienced Junior Loan Processor to join team.

This mid-level position will support the Senior Loan Processor from the start of the application through funding. JLP’s work cohesively with other staff in providing loan paperwork preparation, review of files and the follow up of necessary outstanding files prior to funding. The JLP will also perform the following duties:

• Prepping paperwork and starting the file upon receipt of documentation from the borrower

• Completion of the 1003 and obtaining any necessary final documentation from the borrower to complete the file (financials, tax returns, etc.)

• Ordering escrow instructions and preliminary title reports

• Ordering VOE’s and other verifications as needed

• Assist with sending out required disclosures and following up in a timely manner

• Review credit reports, income, and asset documentation to ensure all initial calculations are correct

• Order updated payoffs

• Stay current on various agency and investor guidelines as well as internal policies

• Perform all other duties as requested or assigned

Job Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

• 6-12 months' experience

• Automated processing and closing experience

• Advanced knowledge of DU, LP and FHA automated underwriting systems

• The ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Able to multi-task while maintaining a friendly disposition

• First mortgage loan underwriting experience wholesale lending knowledge preferred, but not required.

• Ability to study independently

• Exemplary attention to detail

• Excellent organization skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

• Experience with Calyx Point

• Current knowledge of closing and title requirements

• Current knowledge of loan processing and automated underwriting systems

• Current knowledge of FHA/VA and industry underwriting guidelines

• Current knowledge of self-employed borrowers, partnership and corporation tax return analysis

• Ability to assist a pipeline of 35-45 loans
