Job Description

We are looking to hire a Kitter for an Afternoon Shift for our Client in the Aerospace industry in Oakville, ON for approximately a 6 months contract with the possibility of extension.

Job Description:

  • Length of Assignment: 6 months contract from 2018-08-13 to 2019-02-15
  • Number of hours per week: 37.5 ; 7.5 hours per day Mon-Fri

Description Summary:
• Responsible for all material and inventory accuracy, identifying problems and developing corrective actions in conjunction with other team members as required
• Verifying material receipts, stock put away, material issues and cycle counting
• Manage and maintain inventory records associated with the inventory and the business system data
• Maintaining accuracy of inventory locations to ensure 99% accuracy.
• Ensuring work order issues/un-issues are accurate and timely and documented per policy.
• General understanding of Shop Factory and material takt
• Ensuring kits are pulled per kitting scheduled and schedule is maintained and accurate
• Aware of assembly needs and ensuring kits are delivered on time to support on time assembly starts
• Responsible for understanding shortages and making sure kits are backfilled and reviewed daily.
• 5S knowledge
• Understanding of FIFO and shelf life
• Printing work order cards
• Perform and maintain the physical inventory and monthly cycle counting.
• Provide timely support to production; provides AOG (Aircraft on ground) support as required
• Demonstrated willingness to assume responsibilities, ownership of issues while communicating with others
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within in a team environment.
• Ability to prioritize and set goals for the day to ensure assembly is supported.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and be team and customer service orientated
• Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:
• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent or three or more years (3+) prior outside Material Handling experience
• Understanding of inventory management, materials handling, picking orders, storing product, etc.
• Working towards APICS certification would be preferred
• Forklift certification, preferred
• Demonstrated PC skills -- SAP, Word and Excel
• Strong persistence in seeking out information and the ability to expedite in order to meet deadlines for internal/external customers
Lifting required (up to 40 lbs) & ability to remain on your feet during an entire shift
• Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR & CGD requirements
