Job Description:Lab Researcher

• Prepare routine and novel samples for analysis via SEM and AFM analysis using ultramicrotomy, ion milling, and other conventional techniques.
• Operating SEM and AFM and collecting data.
• Complete basic image processing and data analysis.
• Organize generated data into communicable reports.
• Perform some general lab maintenance.
Basic Qualifications (MUST haves):
• Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or related discipline
• Experience with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) OR experience atomic force microscopy (AFM) via lab work, internship or lab classes.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with firm deadlines and demonstrates flexibility for changing priorities
• Demonstrates a strong work ethic, self-motivated, organized and interested in learning
• Strong observational and documentation skills.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Creative problem-solving skills.

Position is a support role requiring more work direction whereby worker follows generally defined procedures. Assumes responsibility for conducting assigned, well-defined technical tasks within an area of technical specialty at a project level. Usually reports to a supervisor or senior technical individual.
