Product Assurance Technician



Volt is partnering with a well-known manufacturer of industrial and dental products.  This is for their Maplewood Facility in the Oral Care Solutions Division.

Position Description:
Performs complex tests, tasks and/or experiments. Utilizes standard or nonstandard procedures required for product development, process scale-up, or production processes. Ensures quality standards are met and maintained. Adapts existing testing approaches. 

  • Performs calibration of test equipment and standardization procedures prior to its use. Operates experimental, prototype or production test equipment. Provides suggestions for most efficient equipment utilization, equipment modifications, or new equipment as required. 
  • Documents test results, maintains records, and prepares summary reports that may be used by other departments. Communicates results to appropriate staff. Responds to inquiries and complaints as required. Sets priorities within the framework of requests or production needs.
  • Assists and trains in basic quality principles and procedures. Participates as a team member on problem solving teams or new product development/test method development teams.
  • 5. Completes special requests from engineers, group leader and/or supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications: MUST HAVE

  • High school/G.E.D. level of education or equivalent experience through training is normally required to apply knowledge of skills and methods taught in craft or vocational-technical areas. Must have a complete understanding of quality procedures, techniques, statistical sampling, products, and equipment.
  • Ability to use computer (i.e. excel, etc)
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple project.

Preferred Experience:

  • In addition, 3-5 years of related job experience are generally required with 6-18 months of post-high school specialized trade, equivalent job skills training, or an apprenticeship program.
  • Worker performs chemical, biological, physical, and/or mechanical analyses and tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes and products.
