Job Description

Product Engineering Technician

Maplewood, MN (12-month contract) $17-19/hr.

Worker performs chemical, physical, and/or mechanical analyses and tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes and products. Assists with compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and documenting results.

This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties:

  • Prepare materials and organize for product testing.
  • Assist in laboratory experiments through testing and evaluation of new materials and products based on research.
  • Worker performs chemical and mechanical tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes and products.
  • May test or make visual observations on product samples from competitors and communicate test results to the appropriate requester.
  • Maintain accurate technical reports for information transfer.
  • Worker will conduct hands-on tests with multiple pieces of equipment.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Associates Degree or higher from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of prior laboratory experience.
  • Previous experience in the automotive/repair market highly desired.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both written & oral.
  • Proven ability to analyze, problem-solve, and implement solutions.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Demonstrated experience using power tools and testing equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills, self -motivated and results driven.
  • Adaptability to team needs and working for many individuals in various groups.
