Job Description:

Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking a Laboratory Technician located in Maplewood, MN. The individual hired for this position of Laboratory Technician will have the opportunity to assist in laboratory work activities involving new materials evaluation, new product development, and new applications for existing products.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in pilot plant, small batch, product scale-up activities and storage of retains
  • Receive, prioritize/organize, and execute product test requests on laboratory-mechanical testing equipment
  • Acquire all skills required to operate laboratory-mechanical testing equipment, computer analysis systems, and participate in training programs to assure uniform technical approach
  • Maintain laboratory facilities in neat and orderly condition to permit maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ year(s) working in a laboratory environment (educational experience is acceptable)
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent required
  • Thrive in a team environment and work well with others
  • Comfortable with the Microsoft suite of computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and database tools
  • Punctuality and regularity of attendance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or higher in a technical field (Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent)
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Detail and quality oriented
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and willing to learn new technology and responsibilities
