You will lead the software engineering team to achieve customer satisfaction through quality and on-time delivery of engineering assignments. Job Responsibilities:             

  • Provide Embedded Software Leadership to the entire Engineering Department
  • Provide leadership to the Software Department.
  • Work with Engineering Vice President to ensure the company remains competitive and establish priorities.
  • Plan and direct engineering software activities, assign projects, establish software engineering AND hardware engineering priorities and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Implement engineering performance measurements and achieve planned improvement goals for quality, timeliness and variation in the engineering cost.
  • Ensure compliance to ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Initiate, lead and implement process improvement activities to achieve profitability in the software engineering department.
  • Review project quotes and perform software feasibility studies.
  • Stay abreast of current industry and competitive trends in technology.
  • Forecast project costs and requirements.
  • Facilitate new product or service development for future growth.
  • Facilitate the growth and development of team through training and mentoring.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

  • BS or equivalent in Engineering.
  • At least 7 years embedded software experience and some experience at manager level or the next step in your career.
  • Project management experience.
  • Familiar or worked with Ethernet, Communication Buses, and/or Drivers.
  • Experience in software development, programming and product design.
  • Ability to travel (domestic and internationally) and obtain a passport.

Skill Requirements:

  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and conflict management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Good development skills with Embedded software.
  • Familiarity with an IDE such as Visual Studio, LabView or LabWindows CVI
