Volt Workforce Solutions is currently recruiting for a Manual Press Screen Print Loader and an Automatic Press Screen Print Loader 

Job Summary

Accurately load and unload garments on/off the platens of an automatic textile screen print machine at standard operating speed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follow the direction of the Production Supervisor and Machine Operator.

  • Load garments accurately (straight and to the correct position) onto platens of an automatic screen print machine at standard operating speed.

  • Unload garments from an automatic screen print machine at standard operating speeds, while performing the following functions:

    • Keep the wet ink from smearing or transferring to another part of the garment when unloading the garment from the platens.

    • Don’t distort or stretch the screen printed image when removing the garment from the platen

    • Apply glue to the platens as needed to prevent the garment from moving during the screen printing process and screen print from smearing

    • Ensure an excess of glue is not applied to the platens resulting in too much glue coming off and sticking to the inside of the garment

    • Verify the correct Color Combination is being printed on the appropriate body color by comparing to sample

    • Verify the placement of the embellishment matches that of the sample

    • Art is the correct size – colors and detail match that of the sample

    • Registration of colors is accurate and ink coverage matches that of the sample

    • No smearing or ‘orange pealing’ on ink

    • Details are sharp and all present

    • Design is printed straight and centered properly on garment

    • Colors are in the correct positions

    • Minimal Fibrillation – screen print is smooth, and ink has good coverage

    • Colors and ink coverage match the other prints on the same garment

    • No lint or ‘trash’ in the print

    • No leaks in or around the design

    • Excessive pallet or squeegee pressure marks.

      • These need to be sprayed with water to help remove.

  • Assist the Machine Operator in all daily operating functions of setting up and tearing down a machine.

    • Remove and install screens from and to the appropriate print heads

    • Remove and install squeegees and floodbars

    • Add and remove ink from screen as needed

      • Ensure ink is not wasted or contaminated

    • Change platens on the machine as needed

    • Pull and stage blanks from containers as needed

    • Assist machine operator in following instructions on the print matrix

    • Assist machine operator ensure the print quality of production matches that of the sample.

    • On occasion, it may be necessary to move different machines and work with a different team

    • Ensure overall production quality

    • Follow all company Safety rules

    • Work together as a ‘Team’ to maximize productivity and overall quality
