Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking an Machine Health Data Analyst to work onsite at our client’s facility in Waterloo, IA. This is a contingent position expected to last 2+ years.  

**Must have the ability to work W2 for Volt, No C2C or 3rd party vendors**

Job Description:

Machine Health Data Analyst will work on a cross-functional team focused on utilizing telematics data to deliver mission-critical solutions, and you’ll do it with cutting-edge big data technologies. There will be a focus on telematics data mining, manipulation, analytics, visualization, and automated solution development.   

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Development, maintenance, and support of methods to automate solutions
  • Connect, flow, store, transform, analyze, and visualize data from engines and machines
  • Integrate with engineering and reliability subject matter experts on our team to develop automated solutions using SQL and R
  • Develop solutions for identifying patterns or trends to troubleshoot Engine related problems, using Telematics data and/or Warranty Data

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience with writing scripts in SQL
  • 2 years of experience with R or Python
  • 2 years of experience with Tableau
  • 2 years of experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services) Compute, Analytics, and/or Storage products
  • Strong communication skills -both technical and interpersonal- to integrate and facilitate technical communication and alignment with our worldwide team
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Data & Analytics  

What Makes You Stand Out?

  • 2 + yrs. professional experience with statistical analysis methods
  • Strong AWS background
  • Tableau Desktop certified
  • 1+ yrs. experience with Apache Spark
  • 1+ yrs. experience with Scala
  • 1+ yrs. experience with R Markdown/R Notebooks /R shiny/R Connect
  • 1+ yrs. experience with creating and using AWS Lambda functions, SNS topics, and S3 Buckets
  • 1+ yrs. experience with the Hadoop framework, ecosystem, and components
