Volt is seeking a Machine Health Data Analyst to work onsite at John Deere’s facility in Waterloo, IA.  This is a contingent position forecasted for 3 years.  Within this role, you will work on a cross-functional team focused on utilizing telematics data to deliver mission-critical solutions, and you’ll do it with cutting-edge big data technologies. You will work on developing methods to analyze data from Agricultural, Construction, and Forestry machines to enable automated solutions to deliver machine uptime to our customers. There will be a focus on telematics data mining, manipulation, analytics, and automated solution development. Responsibilities include:

Development, maintenance, and support of analytics methods and processes to automate solutions to dealers. You will work on projects to:

  • Connect, flow, store, transform, analyze, and visualize data from John Deere engines and machines
  • Integrate with engineering subject matter experts on our team to develop automated, prognostic, and predictive solutions
  • Integrate with PhD data scientists on our team to connect and wrangle complex big data sets and queries
  • Develop solutions for identifying patterns or trends to troubleshoot Engine related problems using Telematics data
  • Bring innovative new ideas, tools, methods, and processes to help us deliver unparalleled uptime and support to our customers and dealers around the world

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of industry experience with Spark (Pyspark, SparkR, SparklyR)
  • 2+ years of industry experience with SQL (Standard Query Language)
  • 2+ years of industry experience with R
  • 2+ years of experience with Python
  • 2+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, or equivalent

Ideal Candidate:

  • 2+ years of experience using Databricks
  • 2+ years of experience using NiFi
  • 2+ years of experience with RShiny/Connect
  • 1+ years of experience with Tableau
  • 1+ years of experience Unix or Linux
  • Demonstrated communication skills in a team setting

Tools Used in this Role:

You will utilize and gain experience in a wide range of tools and components as you develop cutting edge ways to better support our customers and dealers, such as:  RStudio, RShiny, NiFi, AWS, S3, Tableau, Spark, Databricks, Git, GitHub, Jupyter Notebooks

Education (Specific Branch of Study, Certificate)

  • Degree in an Information Technology or Security discipline, or equivalent experience
