Job Description

We are currently looking for 4 Machine Operators to work with our client located in Northbrook, IL. 

As a Machine Operator you will be responsible for: 

  • Maintains basic understanding of the production schedule for the shift and how it influences the work to be done
  • Understands and prepares for the raw materials to be used that shift based on orders being run
  • Can accurately document daily production output 
  • Understands the equipment being used and how to adjust when needed. Identifies product defects quickly and notifies shift supervisor immediately
  • Cleans and uses equipment effectively assuring that it remains in good working order
  • Works with maintenance to understand the preventive maintenance and protection of equipment. Performs pre-shift inspection on machine and documents daily.
  • Performs regular quality checks on product, cartons, and labels reporting issues to supervisor
  • Assists with roll changeovers assuring that production continues to run smoothly and efficiently with no unnecessary delays
  • Supports the implementation and recording of company KPI’s, notifying leaders if there are any concerns or opportunities for improvement
  • Supports the implementation of safety standards, good manufacturing practices, training and continuous improvement
  • Remains current in training expectations
  • Keeps work environment clean, safe and positive
  • This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
  • Must be able to manipulate 40 lb cartons and occasionally lift to shoulder height.
  • Performs daily tasks efficiently to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements of daily schedules.
  • Reduce excess product waste by operating equipment efficiently.
  • Create and maintain a teamwork environment within the facility.
  • Improve production efficiencies through training and communications with supervisor, etc.
  • Notify supervisor of any production, safety, quality or concerns with equipment, operation or facility.
  • Follow company policies and procedures. This includes Employee handbook.
  • Follow all company workplace safety policies and procedures as per OSHA regulations.
  • Diligently practice Good Housekeeping to help minimize slips, trips, and falls.
  • Properly fill out Production inspection check list and return to the shift Supervisor at the end of each shift.
